Junior Infant 2025/2026 enrolments open on 6th January 2025 at 10.00am until 26th January 2025
Welcome
Holywell ETNS is located in Holywell, Swords, Co.Dublin. Holywell was orginally named ‘Gorse Hill’, then ‘Feltrim Hall’ and is located in the town land of Nevinstown. Holywell is located between Airside and Kinsealy. It is an area of over 1,800 mixed housing units of apartments, duplexes and houses where there is a high volume of local authority housing and private rental. Pupils also come from the other surrounding areas of Melrose and Drynam, with some students travelling from Finglas, Santry and the greater Swords area. There are a large number of students who do not have English as their first language.
Enrolment has been growing since 2010 in HETNS, from 21 in its first year to the current 677 pupils. We are a 49 teacher school including 15 special education teachers and English as an additional language teachers. The school also has four special classes for children with autism, as well as a high volume of students with special educational needs in mainstream. These children are supported by 30 Special Needs Assistants throughout our school.
Holywell ETNS now collecting bottles and cans for the RE - Turn scheme. We will be working with Tesco and Spar to return the bottles and cans, and the money raised will be used to purchase items for use throughout the school.
All bottles & cans can be brought to Room 20 (Richie's 6th class). All help and support is greatly appreciated!! ♻️ ♻️

Autumn saw the end of one growing year and the beginning of another take place in our school garden. Children harvested the Wheat and OSR grown last year by the Junior Infants and first classes. The OSR is a great pollinator for bees early in the springtime and the wheaten straw was used by this year’s Junior Infants in art.
We then began the job of breaking up the ground and sowing the Wheat and OSR for this year. They are both off to a great start and they are our first crops in the ground for this school year.
Thanks to our 4th class teacher Vincent for organizing 🍁🌱🌿🪴
Thanks to Fiona Murray's 4th class for cleaning our school grounds the past 2 weeks 🧹♻️ Every class from 2nd-6th will have the opportunity to keep our school grounds clean throughout the school year!
Great job 👏
